Tips On Video Conferencing
Teachers may use video conferencing to check-in on the students, conduct live lessons or consultations using Google Meet, Zoom or a similar tool.
Here are some good practices for video conferencing at home:
1) Before the video conferencing session
- Confirm the date and time of the session
- Know how to join the session (Check SLS or MConline email for instructions)
- Ensure your device (PC, laptop, tablet, iPad), the camera and microphone are working
- Look presentable; wash up and dress appropriately
- Identify a conducive location in the house away from distraction and noise
- Have the camera facing a wall or window to protect the privacy of others at home
2) During the video conferencing session
- Mute your microphone unless otherwise instructed by your teacher
- Keep your camera on so your teacher and friends can see you
- If the connection quality is poor, your teacher may instruct you to turn off your camera
- Adjust the volume of your speakers/earphones/headphones so you can comfortably listen to the teacher
- Pay attention and follow the lesson
- Clarify any doubt you have by typing your questions in the Chat box
- Take notes as necessary
3) At the end of the video conferencing session
- Be sure of the HBL assignments
- Say good bye and thank you to your teacher and friends
- Exit the video conferencing session
- Log out if not continue to use the account
